Bitdeer has begun operations at its second-largest Bitcoin mining data centre in Sarpang, collaborating with Druk Holding to develop sustainable mining practices in Bhutan. Bhutan and GMC collaborate on a high-performance computing infrastructure project, aiming to boost local businesses, create jobs, and improve infrastructure in the digital asset mining sector. Bitdeer’s data center uses renewable hydropower, advanced cooling systems, and green building materials for energy efficiency and environmental performance, considering solar and battery storage for 24/7 power availability.

Bitdeer Jigmeling, Bhutan’s second largest facility, is set to operate large-scale data centres due to its stable power grid, renewable hydropower, and business-friendly environment, supported by regulatory support and a cool climate. Bitdeer Jigmeling mine, part of a USD 500 million closed-end fund, can produce nine to ten Bitcoins daily, equivalent to Nu 63.52 million to Nu 70.58 million, supporting digital asset mining and blockchain initiatives in Bhutan.
