Bhutan’s economy expanded by 6.06 percent in 2024, primarily due to strong fourth-quarter performance, reaching Nu 273.3 billion, marking a significant acceleration from 2023’s 4.88%. The fourth-quarter GDP in the Philippines increased by 9.98% YoY, driven by rising prices and higher production across all major sectors, with industrial sector expansion leading the charge. Positive indications were also seen in the agriculture sector, which grew 3.16%, up from 1.71 percent in the previous quarter.

Sector-specific GVA shows a change in contribution. At Nu 13.24 billion, the agriculture sector’s GVA represented a modest decline from 18.9 percent in the same quarter of 2023. This suggests a little decline in its proportional share in the overall economy. The GVA of the industrial sector was Nu 18.59 billion. Nevertheless, even if global output increased, its proportion decreased from 35.55 percent in the same time of 2023.
