Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an attack on a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, stating that the ship was struck by an unidentified object while passing through the strait; no immediate information was available regarding the condition of the crew or the extent of the damage. Separately, a senior officer from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Navy warned US Navy vessels against approaching the Strait of Hormuz. He challenged Trump’s claim that Washington controls this waterway. According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, the Deputy Political Commander of the IRGC Navy issued a warning, stating, “If the Strait of Hormuz is under US control, then go ahead and bring one of your warships within a 100-kilometer radius.” He asserted that the US military is aware that any vessel entering this area would face a retaliatory response from the Iranian military.
