Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar arrived in Thimphu today on a three-day visit to Bhutan. During his stay, he is scheduled to meet Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

A key engagement will be the celebration of Bhutan’s National Voters’ Day tomorrow at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law in Paro.

On Wednesday, Mr Kumar will meet Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and interact with senior civil servants. The visit is expected to further strengthen institutional cooperation between the Election Commission of India and the Election Commission of Bhutan.
