Flight operations across the UAE remain suspended due to regional airspace closures, as confirmed by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). The decision was made following a comprehensive evaluation of security and operational risks, emphasizing the safety of passengers and crews. All major airports in the UAE, including Dubai International Airport (DXB), Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Zayed International Airport, and Sharjah International Airport, have halted operations, with authorities advising passengers to avoid traveling to these airports and to monitor airline updates.
Emirates has suspended all flights from Dubai until 15:00 on March 3, allowing affected passengers the option to rebook flights until March 20 or request refunds. Similarly, Etihad Airways and flydubai have suspended flights until 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm respectively, with rebooking options available for passengers with tickets issued before February 28. Air Arabia has similarly suspended operations until 3:00 pm Monday.
International airlines, including Air India and Pakistan International Airlines, have also announced suspensions and reroutings affecting their flights to and from the UAE. Passengers are strongly recommended to verify their flight status prior to traveling.
The GCAA has assured that the UAE is covering expenses for stranded passengers, providing them with accommodation, meals, and refreshment. Approximately 20,200 passengers were assisted during this disruption. Authorities are concentrating efforts on minimizing congestion through rerouting flights, enhancing terminal coordination, and expediting schedules to restore normalcy efficiently. Passengers should only seek updates from official sources and directly contact airlines for booking or scheduling inquiries.
