Bhutan has inaugurated its National Climate Innovation Hub in Thimphu to promote climate-focused startups and green technologies. The facility will serve as an incubator for youth-led ventures in areas like clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and disaster resilience.
The project is backed by UNDP and the Royal Government of Bhutan, with additional support from India and the European Union. The center also plans to collaborate with universities across South Asia, including those in Bangladesh and northeastern India, to conduct joint climate research.
This aligns with Bhutan’s constitutional commitment to remain carbon-negative and reinforces the region’s collective response to global climate threats.
