Despite a 10–0 victory, the match was a memorable experience. Thailand demonstrated both technical and tactical skill as they scored six more goals in the second half after dominating the first with a 4-0 lead. With a goal in the 16th minute from striker Jompon Homboonma, Thailand got off to a good start. Thai U-17 team’s coach, Atsushi Nakamura, praised youngsters’ performance despite poor results, predicting future improvement with more practice and gaming time.
Songyot Klinsrisuk, the coach of Thailand, said that playing in Bhutan, with its pleasant surroundings and passionate football supporters, was a welcome change of pace for the Thai squad. He expressed gratitude to all of the Thai officials and Bhutanese fans in the stadium for their support. He also emphasized how well Bhutan and Thailand get along and claimed that sports help to deepen their connection. He said he hoped to see more partnerships of this kind in the future. He emphasized that the recent MOU between the Football Association of Thailand and the Bhutan Football Federation demonstrates the federations’ dedication to advancing football at all levels and lays the groundwork for upcoming cooperative projects and interactions.
