The ESP Secretariat has allocated Nu 15b to revitalise key sectors like tourism and creative industries, with the government releasing Nu 7.5b in three installments. Nu 1 billion allocated for tourism development, with investments in infrastructure, boating activities, bird-watching, and quality standards strengthening by DoT under MoICE. The creative industry in Bhutan has received Nu 530 million, with Nu 381.5 million sanctioned for various projects, including the production of Bhutan’s first theatrical dramas and digital content creation projects. Nu 770 million allocated to tackle unemployment, with 207.5 million channeled into Youth Engagement and Livelihood Programme, supporting 1,325 job seekers with wage subsidies and internships.
Indian government has allocated Nu 100m to support cottage and small industries, conducting investment roadshows, and supporting equipment procurement for 17 informal businesses, including 60 small agro-based businesses. Desuung Skilling Programme has received Nu 2b, with Nu 1b already sanctioned. The funds support post-training activities, entrepreneurship training, and financial assistance for Desuups starting businesses. Bhutanese ESP Secretariat has allocated Nu 600m for education loans and Nu 1.5bn for home ownership schemes, with concessional loans sanctioned by the Bhutan Development Bank Limited.
