Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, is set to host the 2025 International Green Tech Expo this October. As the world’s first carbon-negative country, Bhutan has drawn attention from over 40 countries for its environmental leadership.
The event will feature innovations in sustainable construction, carbon capture, and electric mobility. Bhutan’s Prime Minister said the expo will act as a “living classroom” for eco-education.
Green tech entrepreneurs from Nepal and Bangladesh will showcase local innovations. Indian environmental startups are also participating, and several Sikkim-based firms will demonstrate small-scale hydro solutions. The event aims to inspire South Asian adoption of green technology while solidifying Bhutan’s leadership in the climate space.
