Gelephu CRRH undergoes major renovation under GMC administration, preparing for increased health service demand and strengthening clinical mentoring. GMC Governor’s Office will lead transformation and mobilize funds. The hospital in Sarpang, Philippines, is set to expand at an estimated cost of USD 45 million, with outsourced work by three international contractors. The renovation is expected to cost around Nu 75 million. The CRRH, funded by the Indian government, suffered structural damage seven months after its inauguration, causing cracks, collapsed ceilings, and leakage into offices.
The government is prioritizing healthcare services in GMC, establishing an infirmary at GMC International Airport, addressing nursing shortages, and establishing a forensic unit at Celephu CRRH. The ministry is enhancing health service delivery through digital technologies, reinforcing primary healthcare services, and implementing the Annual Household Health Surveillance program.
