Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen was honored during the PEMA Symposium’s closing ceremony, which was the inaugural Bhutanese National Mental Health Symposium. Her Majesty emphasized the need of a coordinated community effort to address mental health issues, stressing compassion and understanding as well as the vital responsibilities that educators and counselors play in helping people, particularly young people. Her Majesty urged everyone to work together to address problems. Her Majesty’s ambition for the Symposium was to establish a cooperative forum to tackle mental health, one of Bhutan’s most urgent issues.
The two-day event, which was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the WHO Bhutan office, brought together community people, healthcare experts, and politicians to promote communication and lay the groundwork for initiatives that would have a profound impact. Her Majesty opened two historic mental health centers. Mitshey Yarab Lamzang and the PEMA Home. The PEMA Home is made to put the mental health and wellbeing of kids in challenging situations first. To guarantee a comprehensive and community-based strategy, it will work with regional civil society organizations and child welfare agencies. Its goal is to give families and children in danger the assistance they require to start again.
