The government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity through farm mechanisation and quality fertilisers, addressing concerns raised by MP Bongo-Chapchha Pempa. Lyonpo stated that the government is concentrating on contemporary technology to overcome the consequent labor shortage, acknowledging the growing worry about the diminishing number of farmers, especially among the economically productive age groups across all dzongkhags. According to Lyonpo, one important tactic in this effort is farm mechanization.

The Farm Machinery Corporation Limited continues to support farmers through cost-sharing programmes, including the Food Security and Agriculture Productivity Project, and ensuring consistent supply of fertilizers. Lyonpo added that the 79 agriculture sales representatives nationwide are in charge of giving farmers access to subsidized fertilizers. To date, fertilisers worth Nu 25 million have been supplied with subsidy assistance. 1,173 MT of Suphala, 983 MT of urea, 300 MT of single superphosphate, and 10 MT of muriate of potash were provided in total between 2023 and 2024.
