CEOs and founders of 16 AI and deeptech startups engaged in a roundtable meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 20, 2026, to discuss the transformative potential of artificial intelligence across various sectors including agriculture, environmental protection, and education in regional languages. The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity for robust data governance, the avoidance of misinformation, and the development of AI solutions that are specifically tailored to meet India’s diverse needs.

During the discussion, Mr. Modi commended UPI as a paradigm of scalable digital innovation and conveyed optimism regarding the capabilities of Indian companies and domestic products. He further underscored the urgency of enhancing private investment in the space sector, highlighting the significant interest from investors in Indian startups.

The applications of AI discussed included enhancements in healthcare through advanced diagnostics, gene therapy, and efficient management of patient records to ensure quality healthcare reaches the most underserved populations. In agriculture, the use of geospatial and underwater intelligence was noted as a means to improve productivity and manage climate-related challenges.

Additionally, the startups represented encompassed areas such as cybersecurity, ethical AI, social empowerment through accessible justice and education, and the modernization of legacy systems to increase organizational productivity. Collectively, these initiatives portray an ecosystem committed to addressing local demands while aspiring for global leadership in AI innovations.

The roundtable also provided a platform for the startups to recognize India’s continuous efforts in bolstering its AI landscape. They expressed enthusiasm about the rapid growth and vast potential of the AI sector in India, noting a notable shift in global AI innovation towards the country. The participants praised the India AI Impact Summit, which they regarded as indicative of India’s rising influence in the global dialogue surrounding artificial intelligence.

In attendance at this meeting were notable leaders from companies such as Abridge, Adalat AI, BrainSightAI, Credo AI, Eka Care, Glean, Innogle, Invideo, Miko, Origin, Prophaze, Rasen, Rubrik, SatSure, Supernova, and Sypha AI, with principal secretaries P.K. Mishra and Shaktikanta Das, along with the Minister of State Jitin Prasada also present.
