Bhutan’s BRCS launched its Youth Forum and Youth Volunteer Policy, aiming to unlock the potential of Bhutan’s young population through leadership, civic responsibility, and volunteerism. According to Dragyel Tenzin Dorjee, secretary general of BRCS, the policy gives universities and other organizations a chance to take charge and provide students the authority to start Red Cross clubs. The initiative aims to establish a nationwide network of youth volunteers dedicated to humanitarian values, preparing them for future leadership roles through structured training, social engagement, and service-oriented opportunities.

BRCS ensures youth involvement in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, mobilizing resources through international networks. Classifies youth into Junior and Youth Volunteers, preparing them for global events and collaborations. Youth Coordinators and Youth Representatives work together to operationalize the programme, promoting peer-led education, women’s leadership, and advocating for youth interests, with a volunteer base of over 7,000 in Bhutan.
