Team Bhutan proudly represented the nation at the prestigious FIRST Global Challenge 2026 held in South Korea, where a dedicated six-member delegation comprising four talented students and two mentors engineered, coded, and operated a custom-built robot through five iterative versions designed to tackle this year’s wildfire prevention, mitigation, and recovery theme by capturing and containing simulated blazes represented by 500 orange balls, ultimately finishing a commendable 47th among 185 participating nations after overcoming initial arena hurdles by adapting strategies with alliance partners, while also earning international recognition by clinching the Social Media Challenge Award and the Video Storytelling Award for their exceptional communication and documentation throughout the journey, which provided invaluable STEM learning experiences and inspired young Bhutanese innovators on the global stage.
