Residents of Tsirang district and visitors to Damphu town will soon have access to a dedicated centre for local products, recreation, and community activities as the district administration begins construction of a new Economic Hub.

The project, estimated at Nu 34 million, aims to transform an underutilised area in Damphu into a vibrant centre for business, tourism, and social interaction. The facility is expected to provide a dedicated marketplace where farmers can showcase and sell the district’s organic agricultural produce directly to consumers.

Along with promoting local economic activities, the Economic Hub will also offer residents and visitors a space to relax, gather, and engage in community events. Officials believe the project will support small businesses, encourage local entrepreneurship, and enhance the overall appeal of Damphu town as a destination.

The Tsirang District Administration has targeted August next year for the completion of the project. Once operational, the hub is expected to create new opportunities for farmers, traders, and service providers while contributing to the district’s economic growth.

The initiative reflects the administration’s efforts to make better use of available spaces and develop facilities that combine commercial activities with community and tourism benefits. The new Economic Hub is expected to become a key landmark in Damphu, supporting sustainable local development and strengthening the connection between producers and consumers.
