The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu successfully hosted the award ceremonies for the 13th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Essay Writing Competition and the 9th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Speech Competition-2026. Held on May 19, the prestigious event was graced by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, who attended as the chief guest. The annual initiative continues to serve as a vital cultural bridge, fostering deeper understanding and engagement between the youth of Nepal and Pakistan.

This year’s essay competition coincided with a historic milestone, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Participants showcased their analytical skills by writing on the theme, “Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah mainstreaming the demand for Pakistan through constitutional means.” Pratik Pokhrel of Viswa Niketan Secondary School secured the first position, while Dakshesh Ghimire and Nitin Thapa claimed the second and third places, respectively.

Simultaneously, the speech competition engaged higher secondary and tertiary students on a highly contemporary topic: “Will AI engulf libraries?” Demonstrating exceptional public speaking skills, Vishwakala Nepal of Reliance College won first place, followed by Tshiring Tamang in second and Bipyum Chaulagain in third. In total, the two-week-long competitive event attracted enthusiastic participation from over 50 schools and colleges across Nepal.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Hashmi praised the students for their critical thinking and eloquence in tackling both historical and modern themes. He emphasized that these long-standing competitions have grown immensely popular among Nepali students nationwide, effectively strengthening the bilateral bonds between the two nations. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and cash prizes to the top winners and twelve other recognized participants in each category.
