More than 90 ICT professionals and network engineers from across Bhutan are taking part in a five-day Bhutan Network Operators Group (btNOG) workshop focused on strengthening the country’s cybersecurity capacity. With threats such as phishing, malware, scams and increasingly sophisticated AI-powered attacks evolving rapidly, the training emphasises practical skills in cybersecurity, network administration and infrastructure operations. Participants are learning how to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen cyber hygiene and apply layered, -in-depth strategies to protect digital systems. The workshop is also helping professionals build confidence in responding to emerging threats and sharing cybersecurity knowledge within their organisations. Beyond technical training, the programme aims to strengthen collaboration among ICT professionals from the public and private sectors, allowing participants to share experiences and support one another when challenges arise. Organisers say this network of skilled professionals will play an important role in helping Bhutan better protect its growing digital infrastructure. As cyber threats continue to evolve, investing in skilled people and strong professional networks remains a key part of building a resilient digital Bhutan.
