Health officials note that the initiative is strategically vital given Samtse’s rapid economic development, industrial expansion, and surging population projections. By bringing specialized services closer to local communities, the new regional facility will drastically cut down travel time and expenses for patients in the southern and western regions seeking specialized medical treatment.
