His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and Their Royal Highnesses Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck, Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck, and Gyalsem Sonam Yangden Wangchuck are on a Royal visit to Gelephu. As part of today’s programme, Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses visited Sarpang Dzong, where they offered prayers and received blessings.
During the visit, Laytshog Lopen, who is overseeing the preparation of the zung to be placed inside the 108 Chortens planned for the Gelephu Mindfulness City, presented the sacred items to Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses. The presentation highlighted the spiritual significance of the zung, which will be enshrined within the chortens as part of the sacred foundations of the landmark project.
The visit reflected the continued importance of preserving Bhutan’s rich spiritual heritage while supporting the vision for the Gelephu Mindfulness City. The Royal Family’s participation in the prayers and blessing ceremony underscored the deep cultural and religious values that remain central to the Kingdom’s development and aspirations.
